Beautiful, spare, surprisingly funny. They kept it very close to the book, though there's a touch of Hollywood to be seen.

I vote: not either. This movie just lacked something that would have made it great. In my opinion, Fargo is still the best Coen Brothers movie ever. Unlike No Country, it manages to still keep its heart and soul. And yes, I've heard the argument that "the movie has no soul because Chigurh has no soul", etc. etc. but that's just defending this movie's fatal flaw. This movie is all surface, no substance.

I haven't read the book, but I really liked the touches of humor. For all the bloodshed, the movie was much lighter than I thought it would be. No Country For Old Men: the best Coen Bros. movie or the best movie ever? You decide.
