Some movies just *beg* for a sequel. Like when the characters are so involving, and the plot so awesome, and the action so intense, that you just can't wait to see the next one. National Treasure was *just* that sort of movie! First of all, it was about how our America's founding fathers were so cool that they had a massive historical treasure they didn't even use! Being a red blooded American myself, I was happy to see our great country represented so well. Second, this was just like The Da Vinci Code! I mean, it was all based on absolute facts, like the Knights Templar, and the Freemasons, and the declaration of independence. Third, two words: truck chase! I know, right? Who doesn't love a truck chase. Five, Nic Cage is a total hottie. <3! I love this movie!

The Water Horse is a heartwarming and charming tale about the origins of the Lock Ness Monster, who it turns out isn't a monster at all, but a delightfully mischievous mythical create named a water horse! But that's just on the surface. On a deeper level, The Water Horse is really a retelling of the classic story of Oedipus. In this version, the horse represents the protagonist mother, and the nasty townsfolk who wish to capture the horse represent the father which Oedipus must slay in order to assume his place on the throne. They seem to have left out all of the sex and self-mutilation from this interpretation, which I must say detracts from the quality of story. Overall, 2 stars. Lack umph.
